Hi all,
I've just been to theirc4life homepage. I might be considering downloading it, but had a few questions. 1. if i downloaded and ran it, would it install over mirc with speech? I have mirc with speech on my system, but haven't been on mirc for a while. was just wondering how much different irc4lifeis from mirc with speech. you can turn speech off if necesary, but there are some things you can't turn off for instance, if you're on a server like dalnet, there is one room that has about 8 biots, and they constantly ban folk, or send out all the ip addresses or irc servers of the people they've either banned or kicked. also, when people on other networks put in those graphical pop ups that jaws can only read as a lot of junk, such as symbols, you just have to sit tight until it stops. I was just wondering if you could turn all that off. what i was wondering if you can use mirc with speech and mirc4life separately without either of them interferring with each other. I guess if i wanted, I could first log on to the irc4life server using mirc with speech just to see how the server is? thanks,
wonderwoman

Mirc4Life is diffrent to Mirc with speech, all key featchures are still there though, it will not effect any other mirc software including mws, it installs to it's own directory, and Mirc4Life has a Recommended Servers list for you to connect to, with many more options, featchures and settings for the user.

It also offers support via: MSN; AOL/AIM; ICQ; Skype; Email; Web Form; US and UK phone; IRC and if aranged Ventrilo. and the staff do listen and do there very best to help.

well ok, i'm here on mirc4life in th esupport room. I was in th elobby asking about how to view th elist of recommended server, which trinity told me, but the problem is when i go in th emenu to th elist of servers, I can't get out of th elist and back in th emain channel. neither the escape key or the alt key works, so I had to alt f4 and disconnect and reconnect just to get back in th echannel, and trinity was multitasking too much, which is usually the case with people on mirc, whi ch is why i hardly ever go on mirc. so now i'm sitting in here in the support room, with 6 other people who are there, but not there. so what do i do when i go in to a menu, and neither the alllllt key or the escape key will take me out of it? wonderwoman, sitting here in the support room, waiting.

thanks, I think th eprogram might be pretty good, but there just aren't hardly anyone to talk to on the server. more multitasking than talking, and i never was much of a multitasker.

all my servers are listed in mirc with speech, if I update the .ini file in mirc for life the same way i did with mirc with spech, won't it delete the irc4life servers? I never did know how to readd seervers to th elist that weren't already in the list.all i knew todo is go to my recently accesed servers, or in th ecase of mirc with speech, go to where it says your commands, and enter a server, but the server was never added to th elist.

how do you read the history in this program?

Post 12 by ™ (Veteran Zoner) on Monday, 24-Dec-2007 13:21:37

if you copy over the servers.ini it won't wipe the list, it is done diffrent in mirc4life, they will still show as they did in MWS or any other Mirc based client.

and to read history you have to switch to jaws kercer and then go up and down to read through that channel or convo

supernover, I think it would be a good thing if you had mirc4life help included in th eprogram, i mean instructions that people could read and follow step by step.

Well guys mirc4life is actually mirc with speech and its been modified with sounds etc. treat channel windows and channel lists as document windows, control f4 will close them. alt f4 closes the program. For scripting questions or features you may want improved ask the original author and not the person who just claims the credit.
